Stressed dads – fatherhood and divorce

Susan Cowe Miller reassures new dads that there is a simple way to deal with the inevitable stress of fatherhood using Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping).
This technique would be particularly useful for dads who don’t live with their children, and where the contact is squashed into a limited amount of time – which can make the parenting experience even more stressful.


Are you a father finding parenthood difficult?

Are you new to parenthood?  Have a new baby in the family?  Perhaps you are struggling with a dynamic and rumbustuous toddler?  Or are you being tested to your limits with a difficult teenager?


EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) aka Tapping is a Self-Help tool which is easy to learn and practiced by many to lower and manage anxieties, feelings of anger, unfairness, overwhelm, panic or fear.


EFT works in two ways

  • As a Self-Help tool for fast relief from feelings of stress and anxiety.
  • At deep transformational level clearing deep-rooted negative beliefs.


Please note:

It does not matter why you are feeling stressed, anxious, angry, frustrated, desperate, overwhelmed, sad.
EFT works with how you are feeling.
Therefore EFT practitioners are not Counsellors (many of us have Counselling backgrounds). Counselling is seen as a Talking therapy.

EFT works quickly to release feelings of emotional pain and allows feelings of calm, confidence and clarity to prevail.

When you feel better, more in control and calm, then your child will reap benefits.

There can be positive improvement in your child’s behaviour.
Your child or children may become less demanding, less challenging, less needy

  • They subconsciously sense that those they love and trust are happier.
  • These positive feelings are transferable so it’s Win Win.

Crucially EFT works at 2 levels:

  1. Mindset Level
  2. Cellular Level.

Very specifically you voice where you feel your discomfort, then describe its shape, size and colour.

The more specific you can be the better so that the blocked energy/stress can be worked on and released.

You voice the specific fear you hear in your head and by combining Voicing and Tapping, you can release the blocked energy. The charge is gone.



How long do I need to tap?

Using EFT as a Self-Help tool can make significant improvements to levels of anxiety within five to ten minutes of Tapping.


EFT is practiced and shared by Counsellors, Hypnotherapists, Doctors, Psychiatrists…..
