Wills, Probate and Trusts – Surrey
Divorce can take time – and during that time,
you may not want your assets
to go to your spouse.
So redrafting or creating a new Will is essential
in the early stages of family separation.
rhw’s Private Client team consist of Edward Pennington and Rachel Scawin with assistance on contested matters from Mark Ridley. rhw have the Law Society Wills & Inheritance Quality (WIQS) accreditation.
A professionally drawn Will ensures that:
- Your loved ones will be provided for (this is particularly important for unmarried couples as a surviving partner does not have the same legal inheritance rights as a surviving spouse – it is also important for people who are divorcing as a new Will should be drawn up as soon as possible)
- Suitable executors/trustees have been chosen to administer your estate and (if necessary) manage assets held on trust for your children
- Guardians have been appointed for your children
- Your Will is as tax efficient as possible regarding inheritance tax
We see our job as not only taking instructions but also putting forward suggestions and encouraging clients to consider options they had not previously thought of. We ask you all the right questions so that your Will and or Trust is as watertight as possible.
We understand that making a Will can be quite daunting, so we make sure the process is as friendly as possible.
